The storylines

What’s old is new

WesCo welcomes back Dave Telford (Stanwood), formerly at Monroe, and Mike Don (Meadowdale), formerly at Lynnwood, after short hiatuses in college (Telford) and at Brewster High (Don).

Breaking the cycle

“Come on now, don’t jinx us,” says Glacier Peak coach Rory Rosenbach. The Grizzlies have won their division in every even year since 2008, and lost it in every odd year. They’ll try to break the trend in 2013.

Downs out already

Mountlake Terrace’s Devante Downs, a University of California recruit and one of the state’s top running back prospects, suffered an ACL tear in June and will miss his entire senior year.

The can’t-miss games

Sept. 27: Mountlake Terrace at Glacier Peak, 7 p.m.

Oct. 25: Oak Harbor at Marysville-Pilchuck, 7 p.m.

Oct. 25: Meadowdale at Glacier Peak, 7 p.m.
