CBL WEEK 1: CAVS Over HEAT 67-66

CAVS vs. HEAT was a very exciting game. As it started off even both teams scoring in transition to begin the game. CAVS built a 7 point lead which was built by 9 straight points by Chris Chiozza (Bartlett). The heat countered with a 17-2 run to give the heat a good lead heading towards halftime. A few threes and good transition buckets from guard D’vonte Whitmore (Lausanne) The CAVS regained composure and had a few transition baskets by Matthew Butler (East) and Ledarrius Chester (Melrose) and a couple of threes by Anthlon Bell (Bartlett), one of them as the clock was winding down to leave the score 36-34 at halftime.

The second half began to look rough for the CAVS as the HEAT built their lead off of turnovers and a couple of big threes. With about 10 minutes remaining the game began to look as if it was going to get lop sided as the heat went up 12 but the CAVS turned up the heat (literally). With some substitutions and big plays we had a game again. Shawn Johnson (Catholic) came in the game and hit a big 3 followed by a couple big threes by Anthlon Bell and some transition buckets off turnovers for the rest of the team. Matthew Butler had his ankles broken by a slick crossover by the heat guard D’vonte Whitmorebut. Matthew paid him back with 12 pts. straight. He hit 2 big time threes and a layup in transition as well As a free-throw. With 6 seconds he drove to the rim with a pretty spin move got the foul and one! This put the CAVS up 1 pt and essentially gave them the 1 point win. Final score 67-66 CAVS over HEAT. Jessie Pierce had a game high with 25 points. for the HEAT. Both teams will be very tough to beat!
