Boys Basketball

Bremen Tournament

Bremen 43, Washington 37: Deamonta Carpenter put in 11 points to pace Bremen (3-0). Deon Johnson tacked on nine points and seven assists for the Braves.

Chicago Heights Classic

Marian Catholic 69, Homewood-Flossmoor 66: Tyler Ulis registered 24 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals as host Marian Catholic (3-0) secured a berth in the championship. Terrone Parham added 20 points for the Spartans and Josh Cohn scored 11. Dorian McCraney scored a team-high 22 points for Homewood-Flossmoor (2-1), which also received 18 points from Tai Odiase and 15 from Davon Smith.

Thornwood 62, T.F. South 49: Donte Thomas scored 13 points to pace Thornwood (1-2) at Marian Catholic. Donald Stone had 12 points for T.F. South (0-3).

District 218 Tournament

Richards 67, Perspectives-Calumet 58: Josh Meier scored 20 points to help host Richards (3-0) advance to the championship.

Andrew 53, Shepard 48: Aaron Williams recorded a career-high 26 points to ignite Andrew (2-1). Jarvion Franklin aided the cause for the Thunderbolts with 10 points. Jacob Littleton’s 16 points were the most for Shepard (0-3).

Little Village 70, Southland Prep 57: Dajean Kelly had 18 points for Southland Prep (0-3).

Joliet West Tournament

Rich South 61, Plainfield South 50: Myles McCoy netted 23 points to pace Rich South (2-0). Jeremy Ruffin added nine points and 19 rebounds for the Stars.

Seton 64, Aurora Central Catholic 59: Chris Seaton contributed 17 points and five rebounds to propel Seton (2-0). Eron Evans (14 points, 8 rebounds) and Franklin Felix (8 points, 10 rebounds) also starred for the Sting.

Plainfield North 79, Thornridge 67: Darrion Robinson finished with 22 points for Thornridge (0-2).

Joliet West 87, Tinley Park 59: Kelvin Dorsey had a game-best 30 points for Tinley Park (0-2).

Lyons Tournament

Lyons 65, Argo 44: Tyler Mitchell put in 20 points to propel Argo in its season opener.

Reavis Tournament

Reavis 62, Universal 40: Tournament MVP Eddie Puha provided 13 points and 10 rebounds as Reavis (3-0) captured first place. Abdal Ishtaiah led the Rams with 20 points.

Morgan Park Academy 62, Kennedy 48: Nick Boarden totaled 18 points and Josh Deanes scored 13 to guide Morgan Park Academy (2-1).

Riverside-Brookfield Tournament

Oak Park-River Forest 67, Rich Central 40: Arthur Sutton posted nine points to lead Rich Central (1-2).

WJOL Tournament

Joliet Central 69, Crete-Monee 55: Tyler Williams poured in 19 points to lead Crete-Monee (1-1) at the University of St. Francis.

Providence 52, Lockport 33: Ryan Brankin put in 20 points and Tyler Pygon scored 14 to spark Providence (2-0). John Campbell scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to pace Lockport (1-1). Grover Anderson chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds for the Porters.

Girls Basketball

Glenbard East Tournament

Oak Lawn 60, Downers Grove North 58: Brianna Markusic (26 points, 16 rebounds) secured Tournament MVP honors in leading Oak Lawn (5-0) to the title. Jannah Mahmoud tacked on 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Spartans, whose other standout was LaTondra Brooks (10 points, 7 assists, 5 steals).

Andrew 40, Glenbard East 25: Michelle Borgen’s 11 points powered Andrew (2-2).

Morgan Park Academy Tournament

Illinois Lutheran 50, Morgan Park Academy 40: Janelle Heyn’s 16 points steered Illinois Lutheran (3-1) in the title round. Brittney McKnight tossed in 15 points for Morgan Park Academy (2-2).

Rich South Galaxy Tournament

Hillcrest 70, Rich South 49: Tanzania Sherrill tossed in 19 points and Aliah Acker netted 13 to guide Hillcrest (2-2) in the third-place game. Tierney Lockett and Tierra Webb posted 12 points apiece for Rich South (2-2).


Lincoln-Way North 33, Tinley Park 27: Grant Meyer (152 pounds) and Ben Mota (160) notched pins for host Lincoln-Way North.

Lockport quadrangular: Demetre Smith (182) won three times by fall as Lockport defeated Plainfield North 72-7, Boylan 79-0 and South Elgin 72-9.
