South 3, Bartlett 0
Kayla Sims dished 22 assists Wednesday to help South throttle Bartlett 25-9, 25-6, 25-4 in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball match at South High.
Holly Morehouse led South hitters with 10 kills and Elissa Esplin came up with 15 digs to help South improve to 6-1.
Chugiak 3, Eagle River 0
Chugiak defended its home court Wednesday, knocking off Eagle River 25-9, 25-3, 25-16 in a CIC volleyball match.
The Mustangs improved to 4-3 behind 11 assists and six kills from Rachel Topf, seven kills and three blocks from Rachel Gregg and five kills from Natalie Stark.
Dimond 3, Service 0
A monster match from Leah Swiss propelled the Dimond volleyball team to a 25-13, 26-24, 25-17 sweep of visiting Service in a CIC match.
Swiss recorded 22 kills and 23 digs, with Jenna Mixson and Allie McDonnell each distributing 16 assists for the Lynx. Chrisalyn Johnson chipped in with 10 kills and 20 digs.
Service’s Tayleigh Talmadge turned in a double-double with 12 kills and 18 digs. Katie Brown racked 10 digs for the Cougars and Cydney Clark came up with 13 assists and five digs.
West 3, East 0
Led by a .769 hitting percentage by Rebecca Jones, West cruised by visiting East 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 in a CIC volleyball match Wednesday.
Jones finished with 10 kills on 13 hitting attempts, with Bria Billington and Hana Lance led the West defensive effort with seven and eight digs, respectively.
Sydney Smith’s eight kills led East, which got 14 assists from Mafi Makihele.

South, West tied
South and West finished the Cook Inlet Conference tennis regular season tied for first in the standings after each team picked up 8-1 victories Wednesday.
The Wolverines defeated Chugiak at The Alaska Club North and the Eagles defeated Service at The Alaska Club East. South and West each finished with 13-1 records heading into next week’s CIC tournament.

Monroe 54, Vosnesenka 0
Five Monroe seniors scored touchdowns on Monroe’s senior night Wednesday, and the Rams rolled over visiting Vosnesenka 54-0 in a high school football game in Fairbanks.
Dylan Gavora, Tyler Wells, Scooter Bynum, Alex Callahan and Michael Neville all scored at least once. Bynum scored three touchdowns, hauling in an 84-yard reception and adding two defensive touchdowns on interception returns.
Gavora led Monroe in rushing with 165 yards and a score and Wells passed for 179 yards and two touchdowns to go with one rushing score. Callahan added a 25-yard touchdown run and Neville caught a 21-yard touchdown pass.
