Karr-Curtis classic, Rummel upset bookend thrilling weekend in high school …

The Curtis-Karr football game last Thursday kicked off an exciting weekend of prep sports.

The Patriots and Cougars provided fans an instant classic, with Curtis scoring in the final minute to secure a 38-33 victory.

Here are some of the other highlights from prep football. District 6-5A play opened and it took overtime and a blocked extra-point to decide the Northshore-Covington game. Holy Cross’ defense came up big by forcing six turnovers in its game against West St. John. Defending Class 5A state champion Rummel (ranked No. 10 in LSWA poll) took down No. 4 Catholic-Baton Rouge.
