Setting up Saturday’s high school sports coverage for Feb. 15, 2014: Morning …

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Saturday may be a day off for some but for many high school athletes, it is just another day of intense competition. 

Check out all of the content that we will have posted throughout the day in hoops as well as just about every other sport that has something going on today.

Here we go!

Show at the Harry Buffalo

All boys and girls basketball fans are welcome to attend our show to be recorded on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Harry Buffalo in downtown Cleveland. The show will feature players representing approximately 30 teams and is intended as a celebration of the start of playoff season. 

Boys basketball 

Look for reporter Tim Bielik’s post recapping highlights and going beyond box scores from Friday’s big night of boys basketball, including reaction, embedded Tweets from players, notes, links to our coverage and coverage from other media outlets and more.

Girls basketball

Reporter Mark Kern will provide live game coverage of the Division II sectional semifinal between Martin Luther King and Hathaway Brown. If the Blazers win, the team will own an OHSAA record for most consecutive playoff games won. 


Shaker Heights will take on Hudson in the Kent District Tournament at Kent State University at 3 p.m. Reporter Robert Rozboril will provide live coverage. 


Reporter Nubyjas Wilborn will be covering the Division I Northeast boys and girls district finals at Cleveland State University from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  

Reporter Michael Fitzpatrick will be providing coverage of the Division I Northwest boys and girls district finals at CSU from 5-9:30 p.m. 


Reporter Scott Patsko will be at the Division I sectional meet in Medina providing live coverage of all the action. 

Meanwhile, reporter Nate Cline will be covering the Division II sectional meet at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. 

Results from Saturday’s busy night of wrestling will be collected and posted with links to stories about individual events for your convenience. 

Providing Division III sectional coverage from Independence will be reporter Dan Gilles. 


Check out live box scores and highlights from the day’s bowling, gymnastics, hockey and swimming events, which will be posted late in the evening. 

There will also be boys and girls basketball scores from around the state.
