CLEVELAND, Ohio — It’s Tuesday and that means a busy day of boys and girls high school basketball coverage on cleveland.com.

Check out all of the content that we will have posted throughout the day in hoops as well as just about every other sport that has something going on today.

Show at the Harry Buffalo

All boys and girls basketball fans are welcome to attend our show to be recorded on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Harry Buffalo in downtown Cleveland. The show will feature players representing approximately 30 teams and is intended as a celebration of the start of playoff season.

Boys basketball

Reporter David Cassilo will have a post setting up Tuesday’s big night of boys basketball with an aggregation post including notes, embedded Tweets from players, links to our coverage and coverage from other media outlets during the past few days and more. 

Reporter Tim Bielik will provide live game coverage as Gilmour takes on Archbishop Hoban in Akron tonight. The Lancers are No. 15 in this week’s cleveland.com boys basketball Top 25 poll and the Knights are ranked No. 25. 

Tune in for a special edition of The Fastbreak, a live boys basketball audio broadcast for the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the cleveland.com boys basketball poll as St. Edward takes on Shaker Heights. Chris Fedor and Dan Labbe will have live play-by-play coverage of the contest. David Cassilo will also have a game story recapping the exciting matchup posted shortly after the final buzzer sounds.

Girls basketball

The latest cleveland.com Top 25 girls basketball poll will be posted at 3 p.m. along with a video, hosted by reporters Mark Kern and Stephanie Kuzydym. During the video, they will discuss the latest Top 25 girls basketball poll. Readers will also be able to quickly give their two cents in a poll embedded in the post as well as by posting in the comments section. 

The reporters will also have a post with talking points regarding the latest Top 25 girls basketball, further explaining some of the poll decisions and inviting people to ask their specific questions about it.

If you are a fan of girls hoops, be sure to post your questions for reporters Mark and Stephanie in the comments for the weekly girls basketball Pick-and-Roll podcast.

Be sure to look for the final weekly AP girls basketball state poll of the season, which is slated to be released at 6:30 p.m. and will be posted on this site for your convenience. Mark and Stephanie will provide talking points explaining cleveland.com’s ballot in latest state poll.


Reporter Robert Rozboril is scouting the district playoffs in Brooklyn and Kent and you can read all about the seeded teams and how they earned their respective seedings. A post on each tournament will also includes a schedule for all of the action to take place during both tournaments. Here is a link to the post on the Brooklyn District which started competition yesterday. Keep your eyes peeled for a similar one about the Kent District which starts its playoff rounds today. 


Reporter Nate Cline will present the weekly wrestling spotlight with Wadsworth’s Noah Baughman. This will include a short story and a fun, offbeat profile video as well as a separate action video. 

He will also have a post to keep you up to date on when all of the sectional wrestling action will occur with post including dates, sites and times for all of the coming wrestling matches in Northeast Ohio. 

Nate, along with reporter Scott Patsko, will be posting the latest and final cleveland.com Top 10 wrestling poll at 10 a.m. which will include a poll allowing readers to give their views. 


We’ll have box scores and highlights from all of tonight’s high school sports action.
