Sevonte Freeman Sherwood Archers

Sevonte Freeman Sherwood Archers

It’s “Archer Nation!” And the Archers are making a big noise in the small 1A Division.

With a record of 19-2 the Archers hope to ride that momentum into the city tournament. Witnessing the Archers in action at Cypress Middle School, there was an “old school” feeling with entertainment from the drum majors and majorettes. The school spirit and atmosphere was enjoyable. The beginning of the game started off slow, really slow. Both teams struggled to put the ball in the goal. The score after the first half was Sherwood 14, Cypress 9. The third quarter was much of the same, both teams’ struggles continued. Bring on the 4th quarter… that’s when the action began. After being sidelined for part of the game Savonté Freeman opened up in the 4th and got it going with a couple of 3-balls. Who woke up Freeman???!!! He finished with a nice quarter: a couple of 3s, some layups, and a few free-throws. Freeman led all scorers with 14 points.

For the Archers, they will need Freeman to bring it big in every game. Can the Archers make a run in the city tournament?

Other notable Sherwood players:
#3 Moore – Good scorer
#5 Curtis – Super fast with the ball in his hands
