South Sound Highlights: Sept. 26

HIGH SCHOOLS

North Thurston ran its dual-meet winning streak to 39 after its 140-22 win over Lincoln in Narrows 3A girls swimming, highlighted by victories in all events, including Maya Lawson-Rivera in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

Emily Krall had two goals and Savannah Hakes added a third in North Thurston’s 3-0 win over Foss in Narrows League 3A girls soccer. Emily Sorenson got the shutout for the Rams.

Krista Jones got the shutout for Timberline in its 4-0 win over Shelton as the Blazers scored three first-half goals. Jade Castaneda had the final goal of the first half for a 3-0 halftime lead, then added her second in the 70th minute.

Rochester raced out to a five-goal halftime lead on Napavine and cruised to a 6-2 victory. Sierra Seymour got the offense on the board in the sixth minute and Camryn Althauser had two goals for the Warriors.

Rachel Kelson and Hannah Adams tallied a combined 18 kills in Olympia’s 25-16, 25-15, 25-14 sweep of South Kitsap in Narrows League 4A volleyball.

Paige Schieferstein had 10 digs and four serving aces (21-for-21) and Kaysee Wohl had eight kills and five blocks in Capital’s 25-10, 25-7, 25-23 sweep of River Ridge.

Davidson commit Kylie Bishopp had a match-high 12 kills and four blocks while Kaylene Glasgo had 12 digs in Tumwater’s 25-15, 25-23, 25-9 sweep of Centralia.

Mariah Kramer recorded 13 assists and libero Jensyn McCoy had 10 digs and five kills in Black Hills’ 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-18) win over W.F. West.

COLLEGES

Dylan Gaydosh’s winning goal in the 82nd minute lifted Saint Martin’s to a 2-1 win over Montana State-Billings in men’s soccer. Rene Caro scored his first career goal in the 25th minute for the Saints (3-4 overall, 3-0 GNAC), who won their third in a row.
