CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Mentor boys basketball team, the defending Division I state champion, is off to an unexpected 4-6 start.

One more loss would give the Cardinals their most since the 2008-09 season when they finished 16-7. With some new pieces to work in, players taking on a new role and a grueling schedule, the Cardinals have stumbled out of the gate.
