Girls Basketball

Ag. Science 41, Longwood 16: Janae Heard scored 10 points to lead visiting Ag. Science (1-1, 1-0) in the Public League Blue-South.

Lincoln-Way Central 89, Joliet Central 61: Candace Finnin totaled 22 points and seven rebounds to lift host Lincoln-Way Central (1-0). Kelsie Foster (20 points, 5 rebounds) and Sami Wisniewski (17 points, 7 assists) also starred for the Knights.

Oak Lawn 63, Queen of Peace 13: Brooke Annerino scored 14 points to steer host Oak Lawn in the season opener for both teams. Jannah Mahmoud added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Spartans, who also received 10 points apiece from LaTondra Brooks (12 steals, 7 assists) and Brianne Markusic.

Seton 78, Holy Trinity 15: Danielle Bailey’s game-high 18 points led host Seton (1-0).

Lincoln-Way West 51, Tinley Park 43: Danielle Morgan scored 18 points and Deven Bax added 11 for host Lincoln-Way West (1-0). Caitlin Sudduth led Tinley Park (0-1) with 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Sam Alberto added eight points and 11 rebounds for the Titans.

Rich Central 52, Thornridge 29: Tayana Wilson contributed 14 points and eight steals for host Rich Central (1-0). Cayla Rempson added 10 points for the Olympians.

Mount Assisi 54, Josephinum 24: Jess Moriarty (16 points) and Marykate Wetzel (11) powered host Mount Assisi (2-0).

Chicago Christian 48, Shepard 43: Kaycee Pitman scored 13 points and Emily Lemmenes netted 11 for visiting Chicago Christian (1-0). Anna Persenaire chipped in nine points and 10 rebounds for the Knights. Dae Jae Williams chalked up 12 points for Shepard (0-1) and Courtney Dalton pulled down 10 rebounds.

Bloom 61, Illiana Christian 38: Anika Johnson finished with 18 points 12 rebounds to lead visiting Bloom (1-0). Danielle King aided the cause for the Blazing Trojans with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Rich East 69, Eisenhower 48: Ashley Dennis scored 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead visiting Rich East (1-0). Malika Cartman registered 20 points, six rebounds and three steals for Eisenhower (0-1).

Providence 62, Downers Grove South 43: Alyssa Jurges recorded 19 points to spark visiting Providence in its season debut. Mary Fashingbauer tacked on 11 points and five rebounds for the Celtics.

Argo Tournament

Evergreen Park 60, Guerin 44: Megan Pfister tossed in 23 points to pace Evergreen Park (1-1).

Argo 67, Universal 31: Sharnita Breeze scored 20 points to power Argo (1-0). Celia Arreola added 12 points for the Argonauts and Sabrina Williams had 11.

Boys Bowling

Hillcrest 1,778, Tinley Park 1,754: Anthony Singleton had a 211 game and 403 series to spark Hillcrest in the South Suburban Blue. Mike Bennett recorded a 222 game for Tinley Park at Brunswick Zone XL in Homewood.

Sandburg 2,036, Andrew 2,029: Andrew’s Nick Ghilardi led all competitors with a 255 game and 498 series in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Orland Bowl. Brandon Torres starred for Sandburg, producing a 233 game and 450 series.

Lincoln-Way North 2,125, Joliet Central 1,805: Justin Lennhardt recorded games of 234 and 245 to pace Lincoln-Way North at Tinley Park Bowl. Jimmy O’Brien added a 235 game and 445 series for the Phoenix in the SouthWest Suburban crossover.

Oak Lawn 2,090, Argo 1,736: Ryan Kirby (267 game) and Cody Bulow (442 series) led Oak Lawn in the South Suburban Red. Zacharie Crisostomo had a 393 series for Argo at Palos Lanes.

Bolingbrook 2,075, Lincoln-Way East 1,699: Nick Cesario’s 225 game and 374 series propelled Lincoln-Way East in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Orland Bowl.

Lincoln-Way West 2,039, Joliet West 1,926: Josh Glover, of Lincoln-Way West, led all individuals with a 289 game and 498 series in the SouthWest Suburban crossover at Laraway Lanes.

Lockport 1,896, Lincoln-Way Central 1,760: Brian Baer contributed a 223 game and 414 series to vault Lockport at Laraway Lanes. Brandon Bonomo chipped in a 392 series for the Porters in the SouthWest Suburban crossover. Nick Kross contributed a 202 game for Lincoln-Way Central.

Shepard 1,924, Richards 1,788: Shepard’s Brandon Dietz paced all bowlers with a 233 game and 458 series in the South Suburban Red.

Southland Prep 2,612, Ag. Science 2,272: Perry Sibby had a 290 game and 795 series over three games to lead Southland Prep at Bluebird Lanes.
