SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Andrews girls golf team finished seventh overall at the Antigua National High School Golf Invitational this past weekend.

The Lady Mustangs were seventh of 18 teams competing in the prestigious high school golf tournament, which featured teams from across the country. The Andrews girls squad was the only Texas team in the tournament.

Hailey Burgen finished tied for eighth after shooting 76-77–153 over the two days at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club.

The Lady Mustangs shot 329-338–667 as a team.

Other individuals for Andrews were Sarah Black (79-82–161), Kalli Jennings (87-80–167), Libby Wallinder (87-99–168) and Lexi Lopez (91-99–190).

Xavier College Prep from Phoenix won the tournament.

The Andrews boys finished 11th out of 24 teams in the tournament firing a 309-310–619.

G.K. Morrison had the best score on the weekend for the Mustangs, carding a 73-77–150. Tanner Montgomery shot a 76-75–151, and Casey Fowler shot 80-77–157. Erik Wallinder fired an 80-81–161 and Bracston Parker shot 80-85–165.

Brophy High School from Phoenix won the boys tournament.



Fort Stockton beat Trinity in 18-12 in a non-district tennis match on Saturday at the Trinity Tennis Center.

Rhea Cholia, Sophia Hillgraf, Mimi Shaybe, Julie Nguyen and Peyton Whitson won in girls singles for the Chargers. Adam Ball, Anthony Fago and Corey Williams won boys singles.

In girls doubles, Maddie Fryt and Cholia and Nguyen and Whitson combined to win in girls doubles.

Ball and Pearce Wray combined to win in boys doubles, and Cholia and Ball won in mixed doubles.
