RECAP: County Middle School Games 10/31/11

Highland Oaks 33 Germantown 38

The Highland Oaks vs. Germantown was an intense game from the beginning, with both teams wanting to prove their number 1 in the county. Plus both teams were still flying high, coming from their opening game wins. It wasn’t a good shooting game for either teams, with the scoring remaining low for the whole game. The game was tied going into the fourth quarter. Germantown took out their two bigs Jacob Ivey and Cooper Foreman and went with a smaller faster lineup. They pressured the Highland Oaks guards the full length of the court and caused several turnovers. The turnovers proved to be costly for the Hawks, losing the battle 38-33. Giving up 4 inches to Jacob Ivey, I thought JaWaun Walton had a good game in paint. Cooper Foreman is a name you will hear all season long, I like his game. Germantown has a balanced team with great guards, a good big, and a nice size wing players. Plus they are deep on the bench.

Lowrance 58 Schilling 53

Jalen Crutcher
Jalen Crutcher – 13 pts.

Lowrance Middle had more at stake in this game. Starting the season 0-2 would have been devastating for the defending County Champs. The victory should boost the confident of their new coach, parents, and fans. I didn’t get to see the first half, but it was an exciting second half. Jalen Crutcher and Tyler Brewer played well for Lowrance. Brian Harper played well for Schilling Farms, especially on defense. Video Coming.
