Top Performers: 2012 Memphis War Eagles Invitational

The 2012 Memphis War Eagles Invitational 7th Grade Division was loaded with talent. Some of the best teams and players in the nation were in the bluff city to battle. The 7th Grade Division featured nationally ranked teams like, the Memphis War Eagles (#3), Louisiana Primetime Select (#4), AI9 (#8), Houston Elite (#22), and Southeast Elite (#25).

 Top Performers of the Tournament:

Keaton Thomson (Louisiana Primetime Select) was very active in the paint throughout the tournament. Thomson had extreme vertical abilityand quickness to control the boards on both ends of the court. He ran the floor better than any other post player in the tournament.

THOMSON TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHT(S): In the championship game he limited his opponent to one shot and gave his team multiple opportunities to score the ball. He scored 14 pts. in the “SHIP” & won Tournament MVP.


Camren Taylor (Memphis War Eagles) had big game for the War Eagles all weekend. A 6’2″ combo guard, Taylor plays well on both sides of the ball. He was deadly from the perimeter and had the size and strength to attack the rim.

TAYLOR TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHT(S): Taylor shot lights out against Houston Elite in the semi-finals, scoring 15 points in the first half and finishing with 19 points. He also scored 23 points against Texas Hype Sports 2017.


Romin Williams

Romin Williams (Louisiana Primetime Select) is a super quick guard with major handles. Williams has good range and a quick release on his jump shot. He scored from everywhere on the floor, in the paint, mid-range, and from behind the 3 point line.

WILLIAMS TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHT(S): He knocked down three (3) tre-balls and scored 17 points against the Texas Dream Team, Williams was also named “All-Tournament” Player.


Jeremy Hodge (Texas Hype Sports 2017) is very strong at the guard position. With his size, he created match-up problems for smaller guards. Hodge can get it done from the perimeter or by driving the ball.

HODGE TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHT(S): Hodge had a 30 point game against the Memphis War Eagles where he shot 11 of 12 from the free throw line.

 


James Babb (Memphis War Eagles) a 6’5″ post player played well in the paint. Babb knocked down shots from the high-post constantly in the semi-finals and final game.

BABB TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHT(S): He scored 16 points against Houston Elite.

 


DJ Heath

DJ Heath (Southeast Elite) is a natural scorer with a good motor.

HEATH TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHT(S): Heath scored 20 points against Texas Hype Sports 2017.
