UConn signee Stewart leads six All-USA players at U18 trials

Stewart, a center from Cicero-North Syracuse (Cicero, N.Y.), who has signed with Connecticut, is joined on the team by Tennessee signee Bashaara Graves, an All-USA first team forward from Clarksville Tenn.; Moriah Jefferson, an All-USA first team home-schooled guard from Glenn Heights, Texas, who has signed with Connecticut; UConn signee Morgan Tuck, a first team All-USA forward from Bolingbrook, Ill.; All-USA second team guard Brittney Sykes from University (Newark), who has signed with Syracuse; and third-team All-USA forward Alexis Prince of Edgewater (Orlando), who has signed with Baylor.

Trials to select the 12-member USA squad will be held May 19-21 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The USA U18 National Team will compete in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship, held in Puerto Rico, Aug. 15-19, in hopes of securing a berth in the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship.

Country Day School; Faith Randolph, Good Counsel (Olney, Md.); Tyler Scaife, Hall (Little Rock, Ark.); Ieshia Small, Dr. Krop (Miami); Imani Stafford Windward (Los Angeles); Shilpa Tummala, St. Mary’s (Phoenix); Halle Washington, Parkway (Bossier City, La.); and Courtney Williams, North Shore (Houston).
