The announcement from the Beaufort County School District that schools will be closed on Wednesday for the threat of inclement weather means that for the second straight day the entire area high school sports’ schedule will be postponed.
The area’s only scheduled events for Wednesday were two wrestling matches — Bluffton at Hilton Head High and a match featuring Military Magnet at Battery Creek.
Bluffton athletics director Dave Adams said the hope is to for the Bobcats and Seahawks to get their meet in before the weekend. But until there is a decision about whether schools will be open on Thursday, they are in a wait-and-see mode.
According to Dolphins wrestling coach Nathan Day, Battery Creek hopes to travel to Stall on Thursday and face Timberland, as well.
